Bilingual Copywriter/Translator position
RESPONSABILITIES:
. Responsible for providing quick-turnaround, one-off pieces.
. Write copy, interview, and translate conversation with distributors, customers and any other clients/customers who are interviewed.
. Make clear, concise corrections, appropriate to context of material and voice.
. Translate high volumes of work on a fast turnaround and write web copy for consumer and distributor websites.
. Identify strategic methods to meet deadlines.
. Able to cross-trained in all areas of writing, including product, editorial and web.
. Develop creative solutions that satisfy all parties. Able to write copy in a variety of styles appropriate to the type of piece being written and the target audience.
SKILLS:
Required:
. Exceptional Bilingual verbal and written proficiencies in English and French Canadian.
. Strong organizational, project management skills and excellent proofreading kills
. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, must know proofreader's marks
. Ability to handle a multitude of projects under deadline pressure
. Detailed oriented, self motivated and strong ability to prioritize.
Preferred:
. Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision
. Ability to organize workload for effective implementation, to function as an effective team member and to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
. 3 years of experience as a journalist, corporate writer or agency copywriter, all in a French Canadian markets focused environment.
. A minimum of four years experience in translation and two years experience of Internet marketing background
. Editorial experience across media.
Preferred:
. Experience working for specialty consulting, advertising, or marketing firm's or marketing departments.
. Previous experience in the wellness industry, in a Direct Selling or MLM company, in a sales and marketing environment and at a Multi Level Marketing firm, preferably in nutritional goods.
EDUCATION:
Required:
. BA in marketing or related field
. Coursework in communications, journalism, literature, advertising or business.
Preferred:
. 4 year degree in communication, French, literature, journalism, advertising, business, public relations or a related major.
. College degree in Journalism, Advertising or Public Relations.
