BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Responsibilities:
• Forensic electronic data recovery specialists will utilize specialized data recovery skills to enhance the Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force’s ability to prosecute child sexual predators and identify child victims of sexual exploitation crimes.
• Forensic examination and evaluation of computer hardware and software, systems
• Assist with the investigations into computer-related criminal activity, including but not limited to, the coordination and directing of forensic activities on computer-related equipment, networks, and information systems.
• Act as a technical consultant to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
• Assist with the seizure of computer-related evidence, preparation of search warrants, and the preparation of investigative information for court purposes.
• Generate investigative correspondence consistent with departmental protocol.
• Cooperate in the development and implementation of computer forensic training programs.
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS, REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERTISE APPLICABLE, INCLUDING SPECIFIC BACKGROUND/SECURITY CHECKS REQUIRED
* For forensic data recovery certifications, such as IACIS - Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) OR Prior enlisted OR Civilian Law Enforcement experience is required for these positions.
* Experience involving child sexual exploitation crimes is recommended.
